Perfect Golf Swing - Pre Shot Routine For All Golfers

without comments

Here is a great tip for grooving the perfect golf swing that I got from watching professional baseball players.

Over a single day I made a great connection between the perfect golf swing and a regular baseball swing based on two sport programs I had seen. The first was a baseball highlights show which had a brief segment about baseball players attending a golf event for charity. He remarked that many baseball players enjoy their golfing as they often find that they are long-drivers off the tee.

A few hours later the highlights from the PGA were being shown and Miguel Angel Jimenez was lining up for a regular pitch off of the fairway. What I noticed was that his pre-shot routine consisted of making about three swings that more closely resembled a baseball swing. His stance was quite upright and the club head never went closer than 12 inches to the ground. What I perceived was that the drill was promoting a loose swinging rhythmic golf swing.

I’ve been using Miguel’s baseball style drill as part of my own pre-shot routine and it definitely encourages a coiling motion around the core muscles and a smooth transition from back swing to down stroke.

The Principals Behind Why This Works

The perfect golf swing and a baseball swing both have similarities:

- The golf/baseball swing all starts in the legs. The legs and feet form the stable base adhered to the ground around which the swing must pivot in a controlled manner.

- The central core of the body is used like a coiling spring to ratchet up the energy on the back swing then gradually release it on the downswing.

- Tense muscle groups inhibit the coiling ability of the body which reduces the power of the swing. By doing a pre-shot drill (loosely swinging the club without the club impacting anything) it encourages a loose swinging club path.

It is fair to say that the perfect golf swing has many factors which go into making a consistently good shot. But at its root is the need to coil the body around in a smooth motion (backswing through to follow through). The baseball pre-shot drill goes some way to encouraging this natural swing.

Do You Need Golf Swing Lessons?

without comments

Avid golfers will no doubt always be on the lookout for something that can improve their game, and one of the most difficult decisions that one have to make is to decide if they want to go for professional coaching lesson. This is because it is usually expensive and they do not 100% guarantee that you will improve, sometimes people even find that they’re much worse than before they began.

However, the above cases are usually rare and do not often happen to the majority of people. One of the quickest and easiest ways to pick up golf is to actually go for swing lessons, although they are expensive, they’re fundamentally paving the correct way for your golf swing techniques.

Most people know this when they’re starting out, bad habits can stick to you for life, therefore instead of having to correct them in the future, you should prevent it from happening at all in the first place.

There is also one benefit that even the world number one appreciates in a professional coach, which is to get a better insight to their golf game! A coach can help you spot your mistakes that you will not be able to pick up on your own, as they are watching you as a third person, thus offering you better tips to improve your game.

Having a good golf swing can often leaves you feeling uncomfortable, as they are actually against your own instincts, as such these lessons might be worth it since practice will eventually lead to perfection, right?

That said, before you go off to your range thinking to sign up as quickly as possible, gauge where you are at the moment and evaluate yourself. This way maybe you can even save some of the more basic or starter stuff that will cost you money, this is especially true for those with a strong enough foundation.

A way to find out how strong your foundation is can be done by analyzing it through recordings of your golf swing. This will provide you an eye of the coach, that being said, you will still need to know how a good golf swing actually looks like in order to find out your mistakes and make correction on it.

If you have decided not to go for golf swing lessons, there are still many ways to improve yourself, research and read up about how other approach their game as well as make plenty of golfing friends so that you can exchange tips with them.

Golf Swing Drills For Better Golf Game

without comments

One thing in life that we could not dispute is that practice does eventually lead to perfection. No matter how talented someone is in sports, without putting in hours of practice, they will not excel in game and some of the biggest names you find in sports are actually the most hardworking athletes around and their success is because their hard work have paid off.

If so, why shouldn’t you? Consistent and regular practice will eventually reflect in your game, therefore always remember to take time to review your game, run those golf swing drills regularly to keep them in check.

Practice can no doubt improve your game, but it goes without saying that you should be practicing effective golf swing drills instead of those ineffective ones! Here are some tips to check if you’re actually swinging right:

One of the many mistakes that beginners tend to commit is actually practicing in their own backyard without a real golf ball! Swinging your golf club in the air is not necessarily going to improve your ability when it comes to hitting a real ball, thus stop learning in your backyard and start visiting your local driving range to get a feel for the real thing.

Just by swinging in your back yard actually can numb your game, as you do not hit any ball during that period. Although your stance, grip and follow through can be done in your back yard, nothing can actually replace the important feeling and lesson of hitting the ball in the driving range. Thus always be sure to run your drills in a range instead of your backyard.

Making solid ball contact aside, you will also need to make sure that you’re not ruining your game by forgetting your basics. Be sure that with every back swing, your shoulders are guiding your clubs instead of your arms.

You can however, practice your natural golf swing in the back of your yard, and the point is to make sure that you’re properly aligned with your body and standing using the correct stance. This will not need you to hit a golf ball, as such all your concentration is to make sure that you’re swinging right in the first place.

Golf Swing Drill To Improve Your Game Skills

without comments

Golf Swing Drill To Get Your Groove

It is not always about the technique that is utilized to play that wins. Occasionally you should be really focused, and well fit for that game, or else the game will wind up as a tiring hot-day session only. You should do certain warm ups and exercises to keep yourself fit, and healthy to be able to play nicely.

Should you happen to come across the basic guides for golf, the first thing they will ask you to accomplish is definitely to physical exercise. This really is merely because golf involves lots of distance walking, and you won’t be capable to handle it should you are not in shape. Worse still, your golf swing will not be so great either.

Many people who are not so great at golf swings tend to think that they can only enhance by going to classes and following particular tips and techniques. This is true only to a particular extent. Really without even going to classes, you can improve you golf swing abilities, and that may only be only done with good wellness. And good health comes with exercise. Here are some exercise ideas that commonly could be found on the internet.

Warm-Ups

This is the most fundamental form of physical exercise. You should usually remember that golf involves lots of walking, so you’ve to begin off with slow walks. Take some short walks for about ten to fifteen minutes, and then go up a level. If you’ve not exercised for a long time, this really is something very hard to accomplish, but as you go on, it would be fine eventually. Don’t be as well vigorous, or else you may end up being tired and your golf swing is going to be just a matter of a number of meters then.

The primary reason why warming up is very great for your golf swing abilities is because it releases all the tangles within the muscles, and your blood flow will be equal all over the body. This will ensure that you would not get any cramps or soreness in muscles when or after you do your golf wing.

Stretching Slowly

Besides warming up, stretching is also really important to make sure you perform nicely at your very first golf swing of that day itself. Imagine if you go off to the course straight in the morning, and begin playing. You might get yourself as well much build up of lactic acid, and for the next few days, there would be no golf swing at all for you.

Great Ways To Improve Your Golf Swing

without comments

You must know that golf is really a great game that you can enjoy with your friends during your leisure time. This great game is played with a club and balls and special golf courses are designed for it. In order to win the game a player needs hit the wall into the small holes which can be found in the golf course. In the golf course you would usually find either eighteen or nine holes.

So, now let me tell you about some great tips with the help of which you can improve your gold swing.

1. Your grip is very important

In order to develop a good golf swing it is highly essential for you to have a great grip. If you have a good grip then you would be able to aim straight and high. Three different types of grips are mentioned below.

a. Overlapping grips is mainly preferred by most male golfers and for this the little finger of your right hand must sit on the index figure of your left hand.

b. Interlocking grip is the best grip that is used by many golfers. It involves the interlocking of the little figure of the right hand with the index figure of the left hand.

c. The third kind of grip is not widely used because in this grip the middle finger of the left hand just touches the index finger of the right hand.

2. You must adopt the correct stance

You must adopt correct stance as this would help you to make more accurate shots. Try to equally balance your weight between both the legs and do not put any pressure on the golf ball. Keep your spine erect but bend your hips and knee a little for the perfect swing.

3. Try to position your self correctly

You must always position your self in the right way to produce the perfect swing. You must try to imagine yourself in a straight and accurate line.

4. Performing the backswing

Your left hand should be kept completely safe when you are going to apply a backswing. If you are performing a backswing then you must try to maintain a good tempo.

5. Performing the downswing

For performing a down swing you must always keep your head in the same position. You must not generate power with your right hand has this can spoil the effect of your swing.

I am sure this article would certainly provide you all the important information that you need about improving your golf swing.

How To Stay Match Fit Throughout A Game Of Golf

without comments

All professional golfers of the modern era have a staff of nutritionists, physiotherapists, mentors and their caddy working to make the most of the golfer’s capabilities on the course. The professional training regimen attempts to increase energy levels, strength and flexibility of the player. Amateurs do not have the disposable free time to complete the same level of off-course training, but they could still use the following key on-course performance approaches that the professionals use.

Hydration

If you watch professional golfers on the course you will witness them drinking water throughout the 18 holes. The key point to staying hydrated is to take sips of water while golfing. Once you start feeling thirsty it has become too late as this is a sign that your body is performing in a sub-optimum manner.

The professionals will generally not use sugar or caffeine rich beverages as they cause blood sugar level fluctuations that affect you how you play (for example, over hitting greens on one hole, short putting on the next).

Nutrition

Putting good quality fuel in your car makes it run better. Likewise, the nutritional content of the food you consume prior to/during golfing affects energy levels and performance while golfing. Professionals usually take several small meals a day to maintain consistent energy levels. A favorite choice for the pro golfers would be a small pasta/chicken fillet meal before golfing.

Once they are on the course, the caddy ensures the energy levels stay topped up by offering their player bananas or other fruit (bananas are best due to their slow energy release).

Stretches

Professional golfers use various stretching techniques and exercises such as Pilates and Yoga to improve their overall flexibility. In particular, staying flexible in the core muscle area (tummy and lower back) is essential to keeping the backswing consistent and reducing the risk of injury.

All amateurs should take a few minutes before a match to perform stretches of the lower back and legs to loosen up the muscles. The stretches should also be performed during a round as it will also help stop the back/legs stiffening up as the body becomes more tired.

Awareness

These pillars of sports performance are not ground breaking in what they advise. However, simply by being actively aware of what your body’s aches and pains are telling you while golfing should give you the chance to treat it in the next golfing round.

Feeling thirsty or becoming tired during golf are indications that you are not getting the water and food your body needs. Receiving muscle strain is a sign that your muscles are being over worked and would have a better chance of handling the exertion if you performed some stretching exercises.

Trying to perfect your golf swing at the driving range is one way of improving your game, but you should also look to improve your golfing performance through the use of nutrition, hydration and stretches.

The 5 Minute Putting Drill That Is Perfect For Busy Golfers

without comments

The majority of amateurs do not complete an effective and efficient putting practice before a round of golf and this can be a major cause of dropping shots on the opening holes of a round. This failure to practice properly results in the following types of errors:

Their putts do not make it halfway to the hole Their putts take a line or path which they weren’t expecting it to take Their putts overshoots the hole by a large margin

The benefit of taking 5 minutes to practice some putting can really provide benefits, especially the first few holes were many a bogie are made. The following putting drills make effective use of your practice time before a round and should help establish in your mindset the correct alignment when putting and a good feel for the green’s speed.

Alignment

Line up for a long put using whatever preferred technique you regularly use. Place a short iron against the toes of your shoes then step away from the club and look down its line. Is it the line you had intended in your setup? This line is going to show the starting trajectory of your putts so you want to have this as accurate as possible. If the line is off then maybe your technique for lining up shots is a little off. Try picking a point closer to the ball instead of closer to the hole to start lining up your shot.

Distances

The importance of performing a distance drill is that it establishes in your mind how the speed of the greens is over 3 distances. You can practice several distances if time allows but it’s usually simpler to focus on the feeling of putting a long, medium and short putting distance.

Beginning with a long putt, you want to try to make 10 of these long putts and you should focus on making the distance the ball travels accurate (to establish long green speed).

Next choose a medium length putt around the 10 foot distance and preferably a distance which you experience often. Again, take up to 10 practice putts and try to get to within a meter of the hole. Being accurate is important with this drill so you wish to have some putts going in.

And lastly, perform some short putts close to the hole so you get a high number of putts going. This is good for your confidence and will be good practice for the large amount of one metre putts that happen in any round of golf.

These simple drills can benefit all players and save you shots in the early part of the round so always try to put in some practice before a round to establish a confidence in your putting accuracy and distance control.

Golfing Lessons - Will I Play Better?

without comments

Golf is a sport in which you can play for most of your life. So, starting to play at a later age is no really a challenge. However, there are many people who decide to start playing and they may have a friend or family member teach them. With golf, in particular, this is a really bad mistake. Without knowing the proper basics, a beginning player will pick up bad habits and not much technique, which will lead to a very unrewarding attempt at this complicated sport. By taking golfing lessons, from a Professional, will teach all of the basics and then with practice and then more practice, a player can improve.

Unlike many sports, where once you understand how to play, you may compete at a decent level, golf has little intricacies that if not properly taught will never be learned. Not only will you need to learn how to hit a golf ball, how you approach the ball is important. They way the club is held is important. And most importantly is how you hit shots other than from the tee. A Golf Professional will take the time, through a series of lessons to assist you. Once you have a feel for all of these types of shots, then having putting lessons will help you take many shots off of your score.

To keep it simple, starting with a good stance will go a long way in making your golf swing better. A teaching Professional will help you get comfortable as you approach your ball. When you consider that ball placement will change, depending on what type of shot is preferred, it is important that you understand why you will be doing what! Once you are comfortable over the ball, they will address your grip. There are several methods to properly hold a golf club. Whether you employ the Vardin grip, an interlock grip or even a baseball grip, will determine how you hit the shot. And at the end of the day, that is all you are really trying to accomplish.

Now that have the club in hand and have addressed your ball, the next step is actually hitting it. Through practice and the direction of a Professional teacher, you will be taught how to properly take away the club and what position it needs to be in at the top of your swing. The traditional goal is to have the club parallel to the ground. Some physical restrictions may vary this position, but that is the best place for your club to stop.

Your club should be parallel to the ground and pointing towards the target. Then your body should take over to complete the swing. Many people start using their hands and arms. This is a mistake and your teacher can show you how to overcome this. Professional golfers will not use their hands until the club is almost back to the ball. In other words, at about the time that your golf club is again, parallel to the ground, on the way down, your big muscles should be doing the work. This is when the power comes into play. The goal is to generate power without over swinging the club.

The downswing is what will propel the ball, so this is where the power comes into play. However, until you are about half way down, your big muscles should be doing the work, not your hands and arms. Think of it as a recoil and uncoil. This will give you some idea of what you are trying to do. Again, a Professional will be able to assist you. The players on Tour, do not use their hands and wrists until the club is almost parallel to the ground on the way back to the tee. Then they release all of the power and hit the ball. The swing is not complete until you have finished. That means that your belly should be pointing towards the target and the club should fold, comfortably. This is the part of the swing that makes the ball head in the direction that you planned.

Many new players do not understand the follow through. That means that your swing does not stop as soon as you make contact. Part of making the ball head in the direction that you want it to is based on your completion of your swing. The goal here is to finish the swing with your belt buckle pointing at your original target. Simply put, you have the basics of a swing. It will be different for swings made in the fairway and in the rough. Your swing will change if you need to hit it high or low. There will be changes in it if you are chipping or putting. When it comes to improving your score, putting lessons are at least as important as the rest, when you consider that at least 50% of your shots are made from the green.

Although this may sound complicated it is not. Once you are taught the basics, you will be able to play. People who practice what they have been taught, will get better. This will happen more quickly if you have taken golfing lessons. So, go to the range and speak to a Professional. It does not matter if you are brand new at the game or if you have played for a long time. It is very easy to develop bad habits and very hard to get rid of them without help. When at the range, work with a teacher and while there, work on improving your overall game with putting lessons and you will winning all of your side bets and walking away from the course with a big smile on your face.

If you’ve always considered looking into golfing lessons we have the best spot to go. Head to http://whoneedsgolfinglessons.blogspot.com/ and learn what you need to know.

Get The Best Tips Through Golf Lesson To Improve Your Golf Game

without comments

When an individual looks at ways to improve their lives on both a professional and personal level there are many avenues of opportunity. A popular option of self improvement is found in the pursuit of improving health although it is difficult to find an activity that is both satisfying and beneficial. One health option that is available to individuals that is both satisfactory and beneficial while affecting both your personal and professional life is found in the pursuit of becoming a better golfer. Golf is well known for its popularity fit individuals in both a professional and private role as golf has impacted many individuals and their regular relationships with friends and clients. A golf lesson that can be found in this joining of business and pleasure is that self improvement or golf improvement can represent an important benefit to improving both your work life and your personal life.

When pursuing golf improvement many individuals have pursued the golf lessons of golf coaching professionals. On many occasions these individuals have extraordinary golf games themselves and can offer an individual insight into their own golf game. Aside from tips these professionals often encourage practice of proper form and for you to gain that experience outside of the golf lesson. When an individual takes the time to breakdown what is being done at these golf lessons you are found with the understanding that an instructor tips you on areas that you already know you have a problem with and then offers little to no one-on-one skill development. In exchange for this they charge you hundreds or even thousands of dollars for the same information that you could have attained on your own. It is for this specific reason that individuals have pursued the advantages of golf lesson instructional books rather than the one-on-one consultation.

Improving your golf game is about three major factors. Diagnosing your golfing issues and deciding on where you want to improve your game represents the first improvement factor. Every golfer is well aware of the areas in their game that they need improvement in whether it be short putting on the green or shanking the ball on every drive. As a golfer you are often the best person to dictate where your weaknesses exist, allowing you to seek improvement. With your weaknesses noted you move to the second factor related to finding the golf lessons of instructional material that relate to your problem.

The identification of errors helps in your golf coaching so that you are not wasting your time trying to improve your strengths while still suffering from your weaknesses. All golf coaching encourages practice and taking these lessons and practicing from your home environment helps to ad a private appeal to your golf lesson as you aim to improve your skills. The three factors of golf lesson improvement are easy to work with when you identify areas of improvement, attain the lessons for improvement and then practice to perfection.

Any individual has the ability to learn from their own golf lessons and essentially provide their own golf coaching. Instructors would like you to believe that their golf lessons are invaluable but the high cost that is often associated with these insights is not worth the price.
