I have taken part in many jobs during my life so far and I have to say that I am really not that old yet and working on a golf course was one of the most interesting jobs I have had so far. When I first turned up and was told of all of the things it takes to make the golf course look as good as it does, I was shocked.

One of the hardest parts for me when it came to this job was actually getting up in the morning at 4am, boy was I tired. I was really only working in the mornings as most greenkeepers do and I finished around 12.30 which was pretty cool as I had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted.

The raking of over 150 bunkers is a pretty big task and it takes all morning for two people to do it, you do get to meet a few people. Most of the people that I met during the work were of course golfers but they were always complimenting the course and it is great to hear that when you are working on it all of the time. Once the morning shift had been done we would head back into the room and have a nice lunch for free. The choices were pretty much endless when it comes to the things I could have, more often than not it was a full English for me.

Working on a golf course is not what people usually think it is.
