Free Golf Tips For Amateur Golfers

without comments

Fortunately for the amateur golfers, trade secrets are not kept but shared with others freely. Since golf is more than just a game to spend some quality time with a prospective business customer, dishing out free golf tips could be just what you need to clench the deal. It has been quite a while since you saw a golfer with chequered pants up to his knees on and long white socks, so maybe the wife of the last golfer gave him some free golf tips on his attire, that his style of clothing went out with the ark and that just wearing a plain pants and collared tee-shirt was also fine.

Another useful one of the host of free golf tips is to always wear some sun coverage with the use of a peak cap, you not only prevent your head and face from burning, but it also keeps the sun out your eyes when it is time to hit off, so that you can focus better and not worry about the glare. Besides the most important of all free golf tips for the attire, is to wear the appropriate golfing shoes that are comfortable for you, as you are on your feet the whole day long.

Just Trying To Play The Game With Free Golf Tips

Besides the free golf tips on clothing there are also bunches or hoards of free golf tips on how to actually play the game itself. Now to try and get free golf swing tipsout of a professional on your first day may seem quite difficult, after getting to know the other player may help you later on. Once you are in with all the other players who are more experienced than you, you will soon discover the fountains of free golf tips all around you.

Golf Tuition

After paying so much money for the golf tuition, you never seemed to get any free golf tips then, so what is the difference here? Here you are to play, and unlike before hand your trainer got paid and the longer he took to train you the more money he made. It would be helpful if one of your parents played golf, and if you showed enough inventiveness would be allowed to play the game with them too.
But as time goes on, you too will have to give knowledge and skills to the other armatures that will join you at the course to challenge you to a friendly game or two. But the person who should be most considered for wisdom of the game of golf is still the caddy.

Where To Find All-Inclusive Golf Tips Online

without comments

Golfers have been fascinated with dominating the often frustrating game of golf ever since the game was invented in Scotland back in the 15th century. Since 1750, the modern game of golf evolved into what we know it as today. Mastering the game of golf is still as difficult as ever, even though golf equipment technology and teaching techniques have improved.

Luckily, today we have access to golf tips online with the Internet. Even though I have played golf for over 30 years, I struggled to master the game until a few years ago. With the various golf resources you can search for online, it is now easier to discover the tips that can make a big difference with your game of golf.

You can also buy many outstanding products, like golf swing training aids, golf instructional videos, and even several golf e-books that can help you master the game. But, it is also a good idea to start looking for some valuable free golf tips online. Take into account that you will find many different techniques – especially as regards to the transition from back-swing to downswing and the golf grip.

Just try out the different techniques and see what works for you. The golf swing is a fairly complex movement and there are several styles; from the traditional swing to the newer stack and tilt golf swing. Some online golf tips tell you to grip the club tightly, firmly or even loosely. These terms are quite subjective as to the amount of pressure to use, so just experiment until you find the right grip – I prefer “firmly.”

When looking for golf tips online, take into account that there is more to golf than just learning the golf swing. Look for resources that show you the most comprehensive golf tips online. One of the most important areas of golf, that is often ignored, is the mental game of golf. You want free golf tips? First, learn to dominate your inner game of golf.

You will need to know what the right golf equipment (golf clubs and balls) is for your game. There are clubs that are suited for the beginner golfer that are more forgiving. Buy a driver and fairway woods with a large titanium head, graphite shaft, and that are perimeter weighted. For irons, choose iron shafts for accuracy, more sole weighting, and wider soles. For beginners, play a two piece, mid spin, firm feel golf ball.

As I said before, search for golf tips online that covers every area of golf. The things you need to learn include the grip; setup and stance; backswing, transition, and downswing; driving, fairway shots, chipping, putting, and bunker shots; course management; how to fix problems like the slice, hook, and pull shot; and the different trouble shots you will face – deep rough, playing into the wind, hill lies, and others.

Of course, you can pay a professional golf instructor to learn all these things, but you will end up paying a fortune for dozens of lessons. I would recommend starting out to learn as much as possible with free online golf tips. You could then take a few one-on-one golf lessons and then go to the driving range to practice. Finally, get out on the golf course and play a round of golf – and remember, to master the game of golf, you need to practice – and have fun!

Free Golf Tips For Beginners – The Golf Grip

without comments

As the golf grip is so important, here are some free golf tips for beginners on the golf grip. If you are a more experienced golfer then these golf tips might help you to reassess your grip. If you have a certain swing fault such as a hook, use the description of the different grip types and positions to learn how to fix it.

The three basic grip types are the interlocking grip, the overlapping grip, and the ten finger grip (or baseball grip.) Each grip has three different grip angles; distance, neutral, and control. There are also three different grip strengths; a weak, strong, or neutral grip. The grip you should use will depend on your strength, hand size, finger length, and how you want to shape your shot – just find the grip that suits you and that is comfortable.

The Three Grip Styles

The baseball grip is not used by many golfers because the overlapping or interlocking grips are far more adaptable. It is a grip that gives you good leverage but the problem is that it produces less club head speed which translates into less distance. Some beginners, children or women use this grip but I would recommend they either of the other two grips.

The overlapping grip is good for people with larger hands or longer fingers and is considered by many pros as the best grip to unify the hands. With short fingers, you will tend to place your right hand too far over or under the club when trying to get a comfortable position.

The interlocking grip is when the pinkie of the right hand interlocks with the index finger of the left hand. It is used by golfers with small hands or fingers; just be careful of gripping the club in the palm of your right hand as it should be a finger only grip.

The Three Grip Angles

The distance grip maximizes the wrists flexibility and is good for distance and also offers sensitivity. Place the grip across the base of the fingers, from the base of the index finger to the pad at the base of the little finger on the left hand. The disadvantage is that it requires more strength and skill to keep the club head square through impact.

The neutral grip is most likely the best grip angle for most golfers. This grip runs diagonally from the base of the index finger to a point below the heel pad of your palm. The neutral grip offers a good compromise between distance and control as you have the most flexibility to undertake any type of shot making.

The third type of grip angle you could try is the control grip. The club runs on a more diagonal line from the base of your index finger to the top of your heel pad. With this grip you will have maximum control for more accuracy but with less flexibility in the wrists you will get less distance.

3 Grip Strengths

If you want to reduce slicing then try the strong grip which is also good for distance but you won’t be able to fade the ball. With this grip you have to rotate your hands so that you will see the “V” made between thumb and forefinger pointing towards your right shoulder. Also, find the hollow between the two tendons in the wrist directly above your thumb and you will see that it is lined up with the right side of your club shaft.

The neutral strength grip is what the majority of golfers use. You have more ability with this grip to fade the ball or draw the ball more easily but it requires a bit more strength to keep the clubhead square at impact. Now the “V” will be pointing towards your right ear and the point of your wrist will be in line with the center of your shaft.

The weak grip is when the point in your wrist is lined up with the left side of your shaft and the “V” points to your chin. This grip can be used to eliminate hooking the ball but you won’t be able to hit a controlled draw. It also requires more strength to square the club at impact.

To Summarize

With these free golf tips for beginners, you now know all the different techniques you can use to grip the club. No matter which of the nine grip styles and positions you use, remember the following points: The palms of your hands should always face each other; the right hand is a fingers only grip and the left hand is a fingers and palm grip; leave half an inch of the grip protruding beyond your left hand when you grip the club; grip the club firmly and with constant pressure throughout the complete golf swing; and your hands will feel unified when they fit snugly together.

How To Search For Free Golf Instruction Online

without comments

Are you looking for free golf instruction online? No wonder you want to save some money because golf can be an expensive pastime. Maybe you saved some money by buying cheap golf clubs on sale but there are many items of golf equipment that you need – a golf bag, golf balls, golf tees, and more.

Then, of course, you have to pay for your green fees and, no doubt, transportation costs to and from the golf course. So, in this article I will show you some places where you can find free golf instruction online.

Try starting out to look for answers to your specific questions about specific problems or difficulties you may have; like help with your golf grip. You can find a lot of help at online forums; search for “golf forums” and go through the ones on the first page or two, even though there will be thousands of results. See which forum has answers to your question and if the answers were what you were looking for. If your question is not there then ask your own question; you will have to register for free first.

The next method for looking for free golf instruction online is by using Google search. Most people are not specific enough when they search; instead of searching for golf grip, where you will get many results not related like places to buy golf grips, search using quotation marks or inverted commas. Taking the golf grip as an example, search more specifically for “how to grip a golf club” or maybe “gripping the club” and the results will be very relevant to what you are looking for.

If you like learning by watching videos then when searching for free golf instruction online, use the search term “free golf videos.” You will find several good resources online where you can watch some golf instruction videos. As an example, if you want lessons to improve your golf swing, then you just need to search for “free golf swing videos” and see what comes up.

Most of the top golf websites have sections of free golf instruction that can be quite useful. As an example, golfillustrated.com has a few swing tips in PDF format and several golf lessons from teaching pros; pga.com have many golf lessons and instruction; golf.com have many video and article lessons, and golflink.com have hundreds of tips and videos on all aspects of the game.

Also, you can find at the next two golf sites a lot of information and free golf instruction online. The first one is golf-online-tips.com whose focus is on providing golf tips for beginners and free golf tips on every area of golf. The second one is a golf video website at golf-online-videos.com, where you will find hundreds and hundreds of free golf videos on anything and everything to do with golf.

The Internet is still a great resource for free stuff like free golf instruction online. You have to remember though, that when you search you have to use more specific search terms or use quotation marks. A lot of people can’t seam to find what they are searching for as they use very general search queries. By persistently searching you can uncover a lot of good free golf instruction and save some money as well as help you with your golf game.

Improve Putting With These 3 Tips

without comments

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adLrG2L1N90

To improve putting, I have 3 tips for you to use on the practice green and you should see the same results that I did. Improve putting means lower scores on your score card.

I have struggled with my putting most of my golfing career and to be perfectly honest I was a very poor putter. I used the traditional grip when putting. I am right handed so my left hand was on the top and my right hand was on the bottom.

Using the traditional grip, my biggest problem was keeping the club head square to the target line throughout the putting stroke. I would usually push of pull my putts which means I missed allot of putts.

A few years ago I decided to change my grip on the putter and I put my left hand on the bottom and my right hand on the top.

Changing my grip gave me more control of my putting stroke by taking my right hand out of the putt. I now controlled the putting stroke with my left hand and I now used my right hand to keep the putter head square to the target line. This helped me to be more consistent with my putting and rolling the ball where I wanted it to go.

The second thing I changed to imporve putting has had the most dramitic results for me and is responible for me to start lowering my scores on the golf course.

I was preparing to play in the final qualifying round of the ESPN 2 Man Best Ball Tournament that was going to be held in Las Vegas. I was playing a practice round with my partner the day before the finals. We were playing at Bears Best which is where the qualifying finals were to be held and that course just happens to be one of my favorite golf courses.

We were paired up with another twosome which decided to use one of the course’s caddies for their round. About half way through the round I was complaining about my poor putting like I normally did when the caddie told me that I was picking my head up to quickly while I was putting. He told me to keep my head down a couple of extra seconds after I stroked the ball and not to be in a hurry to pick it up to see where the ball was going.

That caddie sure knew what he was talking about. Keeping my head down a few extra seconds after stroking the ball helped me to keep my ball on line and if I  had lined the put up correctly the ball was starting to roll in the cup.

The next day while playing in the qualifying finals I follow that caddie’s advice and I kept my head down for a few extra seconds while putting. By following hes advice I one putted thirteen greens and ended up shooting the best round of my life. My partner and I went on to play in the ESPN Tournament Finals. By the way, I shot a 73 that day. Not bad for a 10 handicapper.

The third and final tip to improve putting is to relax your hands when gripping the club. The fact is, you should have a relaxed grip on all your shots when playing golf. Relaxing your hands when gripping the club will help to improve all your shots and not just your putting.

Using these 3 tips has helped me to become a much better player on the greens than I use to be. Give them an honest try on the practice green and see if they improve your putting the way they did mine. Improve putting is the easiest way I know to help lower your scores and your handicap.

How to Golf and the Importance of a set-up Routine

without comments

How to golf for beginners and having your own set-up routine is important. Whether your a beginner or intermediate player you have to have your own unique set-up routine that you use to prepare yourself for every shot.

Everyone has their own perspective and outlook about golf. It is how you approach the game that will determine how good a golfer you will become. You must be willing to accept failure in the game of golf becaue it will come. It is the greatest game there is and if your willing to put in some practice and develop your own routine while your playing you can become very good at this game.

I am going to give you my step by step set-up routine and this should help you as well. For myself, golf is a very relaxing game. it doesn't make a difference if I shoot a great score or a bad score, I just enjoy playing. I enjoy the beutiful scenery, the smell of the fresh cut grass, but the one thing that attracts me to golf the most is the fact that this is a game that can never be mastered. You always have room to improve.

I always go to the golf coarse early enough so I have time to warm up on the practice tee. I cannot stress enough the importance of getting loose and warmed up before you start play. This is when your mental preparations will begin. I
have been playing this game so long that I have developed my own personal set-up routine for addressing the ball through the completion of the swing. You should develop your own personal routine as well.

While on the practice tee I usually place an iron on the ground help align me with my target. This helps me when I set my feet to make sure they are placed properly. I will position myself behind the ball and visualise the shot in my head before it happens. When I am setting up for any shot, I will begin with my feet together so I can check my distance from the ball. Once that is complete, I make sure that when I place my club behind the ball the club face is square to the ball and aligned to my target.

I then set my left hand first making sure it is in the proper position. If my left hand is in good position than my right hand fits right into place. I then spread my feet apart starting with my left foot first. I always start with my left foot because my left foot determines where the ball is placed in my stance. This will also make it easy for me to make any adjustments of the ball to my stance.

Once my feet are set in place I will open my left foot slightly towards the target. This will allow me to clear my hips easier since my flexibility has tightened up over the years. It is not as easy to turn my body through the swing as it use to be.

My set-up is now complete and I am ready to deliver my swing. If everything is correct the ball will go exactly where I aimed it.

Golf is all about repetition and repeating the same swing over and over. If you develop your own set-up routine this will take you one step closer to being a more consistent golfer.

The Importance of Your Own Set-up Routine

Free Golf Tips For Beginners For Gripping The Club

without comments

The golf grip is fundamental to having a good swing, so here is how to get a good golf grip with these free golf tips for beginners. The more experienced golfer should also find these golf tips useful if you want to re-examine your grip. By understanding the description of the nine different grips you will be able to identify any swing faults you may have, such as a slice, and be able to fix it.

The interlocking grip, the overlapping grip, and the baseball grip (or ten finger grip) are the three basic grip types. For each grip type, there are three grip angles that you can use; control, neutral, and distance. Furthermore, you can apply three different grip strengths; a weak, neutral, or strong grip. Which grip should you use? It will depend on what size of hand and fingers you have, your strength and how you want to play the ball. The most important thing is to find a grip that is comfortable and efficient.

3 Grip Styles

The baseball grip is not used by many golfers because the overlapping or interlocking grips are far more adaptable. It is a grip that gives you good leverage but the problem is that it produces less club head speed which translates into less distance. Some beginners, children or women use this grip but I would recommend they either of the other two grips.

If you have larger hands or longer fingers try the overlapping grip which is considered by many professionals as the best grip to unify your hands. This grip is not good for people with short fingers as they tend to place their right hand too far over or under the club when trying to get comfortable.

The interlocking grip is good for golfers who have small hands or fingers but be careful of gripping the club too much in the palm of your right hand. With this grip, the pinkie of the right hand interlocks with the index finger of the left hand.

The Three Grip Angles

With the distance grip variation, the grip runs diagonally across the base of the fingers from the base of the index finger to the pad at the base of the pinkie. This grip maximizes the wrists flexibility and is good for distance but also offers sensitivity. It does require, though, more strength and skill to square the club head at impact.

Probably the best grip angle for most golfers is the neutral grip. This grip runs diagonally from the base of the index finger to the middle of your palm below the heel pad. You have the most flexibility for any type of shot making ability and it is a good balance between distance and accuracy.

The third type of grip angle you could try is the control grip. The club runs on a more diagonal line from the base of your index finger to the top of your heel pad. With this grip you will have maximum control for more accuracy but with less flexibility in the wrists you will get less distance.

3 Grip Strengths

Finally, with regards to grip strength, the first is the strong grip. When looking down at your left hand, the “V” between your thumb and forefinger point towards your right shoulder and the point between the two tendons in the wrist should be in line with the right side of the shaft. The strong grip is used to eliminate slicing and is also good for distance. Don’t use this grip if you want to fade the ball.

The neutral strength grip is the ideal grip for the majority of golfers. With this grip you can draw the ball or fade the ball easily. It requires a bit more strength to square the club at impact. This time, the “V” should be pointing towards your right ear and the point of your wrist that I mentioned before will line up with the center of your shaft.

The weak grip is used to straighten out a hook but you will not be able to hit a controlled draw. You need more strength to keep the clubhead square through impact. This time, you will see the point of your wrist in line with the left side of your shaft and the “V” pointing towards your chin.

Summary

With these free golf tips for beginners, you now know all the different techniques you can use to grip the club. No matter which of the nine grip styles and positions you use, remember the following points: The palms of your hands should always face each other; the right hand is a fingers only grip and the left hand is a fingers and palm grip; leave half an inch of the grip protruding beyond your left hand when you grip the club; grip the club firmly and with constant pressure throughout the complete golf swing; and your hands will feel unified when they fit snugly together.

What the trick is to take your perfect practice swing to the golf course

without comments

Having a great swing in golf can be a curse. I know many people who have great swings but can’t convert on the golf course. It’s almost a curse where you have the mechanics down but you just can’t score well. This proves that there’s something else out there we need.

I’ve been around teaching for years and I always hear “How do the pro’s shoot such terrific scores?” It’s a great question and from what I know, the swing is just part of their greatness.

First of all, these guys eat, drink and sleep golf. They hit thousands of balls a day. Secondly, they have talent. Third, a coach, But more importantly, they know how to take practice to the real world, and below is the trick.

Youve heard many times practice with a purpose right? This is such a strong and amazing part of the game. You see, when you are practicing, you must imagine yourself on the course getting ready to hit the shot.

For some of us, we get a little anxious because our buddies are watching or theres money on the line (while we imagine we are on the course). For others, we have no emotion because when we golf its social and we could care less what we shoot (although we want our game to magically be great and delivered without real practicelike crossing our fingers). In either case, you are searching for the moment. The MOMENT is when you are locked into what you want to execute, how the ball should lookthis is found through your pre-shot routine what why it’s so important.

When you have decided and are in the moment, go ahead and hit the ball. See if you actually have that shot in your bag. You will probably wake up to the fact that you don’t…and you are not alone. There’s nothing wrong with this….keep repeating this process till you have your shot with the moment in your pre-shot routine. Happy Golfing!

Golf Practice: How to practice correctly and get rid of your typical score on the course!!

without comments

Hands down we can all golf a better golf game if we just had some practice help. I’m sure you would agree that all the shots on TV look so easy, but none of us are armed with how to practice these so if we are faced with that shot we are ready to execute.

Often I’m asked “how long should you practice at a range and how often?” Well…great question…but my advice is simply….it depends on the person. But, remember, you are not only going to the range to practice your swing, but practice your mental game as well. This will lessen the chances of “praying” things will happen on a golf course…and typically, they don’t.

Before we go any further, lets all agree…the mental part of our game has never been practiced and it’s not our fault. Who can blame us? The marketing noise is so loud out there, we cant even think. The great ads I see are buy this club and you will hit straighter shots and lower your scores. Really? Really? You mean to tell me that science is so good I can throw $300 to the manufacturer and ba-boom, I will hit a straighter ball? Im in!

Well, after we buy into that noise..what happens? Around the 2 month mark our typical game comes right back. Now why in the world do we buy into this placebo? I think we buy in because it sells to our ego, and golfers have HUGE ego’s.

Sorry for the rant. Back on topic, here are a couple of things I want everyone to try out the next time they are at the range.

Now, after 18 years of teaching tennis/golfI know HOW important the swing is to everyone. But, I dont want to touch that category with a 10 foot pole. Why? Wellits simple: Im from the camp that golf is much more than a swing. For the majority of golfers, the swing makes or breaks your game. In some respects, this is trueHOWEVER, unless you have balance with your body and mind, you will continue to shoot your typical lackluster game NO QUESTION!!

I’m not here to say that having a great swing is a bad thing. I just think we all need to practice with a purpose which will deliver results.

Whops, I get off track so easily..

Below are 3 common practice issue that many of us practice. If you would like to see the entire list , please get your copy by clicking here!

#1) No more artificial turf mats. Please stick to grass. The turf only hides issues with your swing and impact point.

#2) Do not move the ball up and back in your stance! Look, when practicing an iron, keep the ball placement consistent. If you do this, then you are practicing the shot.

#3) Practice your pre-shot routine before each shot. I beg of you get a pre-shot routine and practice it before each shot. The pre-shot routine is imperative to quiet yourself before execution.

Enjoy these little helpers and if you want all 15 tips for free, just click here and get to the golf help site and get yourself one.
