Golf Holiday Booking Advice

without comments

One of the first things that you should consider when booking a golf holiday is who, if anyone, you will go with. If you are going with a group then a great deal more planning is needed, whereas if you are going alone, things can get a great deal simpler. Making the reservations is easier the fewer people you go with but this does not make much difference if you decide to go through a travel agency which will do all of the hard work for you.

Considering your budget is another major factor. Golfing vacations rarely come cheap, especially if you plan to go to a top quality resort and stay in the resorts accommodation as well. Though more convenient, a full golf resort package can get very expensive. Nonetheless, there may be some special offers occasionally and this is something your local travel agency may be able to help you with, or a bit of research on the net.

Booking the perfect golf holiday also depends on how much of an enthusiast you are. If you are a true enthusiast, then you will most likely be interested only in using the very best golf course. In such cases, food and accommodation will take second priority and you will likely be far better off either going alone or with fellow enthusiasts than family or others who are not so enthusiastic about golf.

When you have shortlisted the best golf resorts, you should contact each one to find out further details about tee times, booking procedures and transport amongst others. You should familiarize yourself with exactly what is included in the package and what is not. This way you should be able to stop yourself from going over budget. Go prepared as well, making sure that you get the equipment you need far in advance to save missing out on anything.

Finally, you will need to consider the interests of those who you are planning to travel with. If they do not share your interest in golf so much, then you will need to take this into account. The location of the golf resort is very important here, though there are many which are located close to various tourist attractions and other entertainment venues.

Ready For Your St Andrews Golf Vacation? Coming Up Is A Beneficial Review Of The Old Course

without comments

Any golfer worth his salt ought to play the well-known St Andrews Old Course in any case one time in his life. As you’re setting up your St Andrews golf vacation, you basically need to incorporate a round or two on these legendary links. Next is some information concerning this most famed of the St Andrews courses that will help you get the ultimate experience from your jaunt there.

Regarding St Andrews

St Andrews has been home to golf for a lot more than 600 years. The seven courses there are controlled by the St Andrews Links Trust, which supervises, takes cares of and safeguards them. St Andrews is the most enormous and possibly most defiant, public golf compound in Europe. In a tribute to its plan and past, one of the seven courses, the Old Course, played host to the 2010 British Open championship tournament, an occasion which grabs the interests of the best golfers from through out the globe. The Open paid tribute to its 150th anniversary at St Andrews in July 2010. This is the 28th time the Old Course has held the Open. St Andrews has merited high praise from golf stars like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, both of whom enjoy playing there.

St Andrews Golf Vacation -Getting Down to The Fine Points

The Old Course often is observed as one of the most tasking courses in the world to play. There is a narrow line, nevertheless, separating “difficult” and “challenging,” which better describes these well spoken of links. The course has a large quantity of enormous fairways and playable greens, an element that might just help you earn a respectable score. But although the greens and fairways are totally playable, it’s the bunkers and the wind which make the course an actual challenge. On a gusty day, the gusts travel with you on the initial nine holes and into your face on the final nine. On the remaining five holes, don’t forget the out-of-bounds that runs down the right side, set and calmly awaiting to gobble up a slice. The bunkers are a vital element that enhances the Old Course’s defiance. These are comprised of steep faces which occasionally seem to fly up and take hold of your shot. Two bunkers, specifically, can append extra strokes to your score. The first bears the telling title of “Hell” and can be seen on the fourteenth hole. The second, labelled “Road Hole,” is equipped to intercept wayward shots on the seventeenth. This hole also is viewed as equal to the toughest holes in golf and has well-merited name. A large number of golfers hold Old Course’s finishing three holes to be perfectly developed to test even the most qualified professional. The seventeenth hole specifically takes two just about impossible drives to reach an equally tough green. Tours are presented at a practical price and are a fantastic way to look at the Old Course before taking it seriously.

For a actually superb St Andrews golf vacation, plan beforehand and do not leave anything to fate – aside from your score, for sure!

Tee times on the Old Course are in great order. Our team can assist with your St. Andrews Golf Vacation, contact us Telephone: +44 (0) 1796 474469 or go to www.golfaroundscotland.com

You will have all the distances you need to hit the perfect lay up shot, hit more greens, and hit more fairways.  It is always a great thing to know exactly what you are working with and this will only make you a better golfer.

Let me show you want Current Owers are Saying:

S.Vidmar

I’ll admit it…I tried a cheaper product made by Garmin. It locked up every three or four rounds. After trying three units I gave up and bought the SG5. It works great. The color screen is very easy to read in the sun. The charge lasts longer than I expected, usually three full rounds at least. My only complaint is that it’s a little bigger than some of it’s competitors. You can’t slip it into your pocket to take a swing. But I’ve used it for six months and it’s performed flawlessly.

Drill To Improve Your Golf Swing

without comments

Do you usually lose your balance when it comes to your golf swing? If you do, here’s what you can do about it.

First of all, you need to understand that the way you setup to the golf ball dictates to a large degree the balance that you’ll have during your golf swing. And so here is how to get a balanced posture position from which you begin your golf swing.

1st.

Stand up straight with your feet about shoulder width apart, then

2nd.

Take the straightness out of your knees, then…

3rd.

Place a club along your spine, and then

4th.

Bend forward making sure that your spine remains straight. It is extremely essential once doing this golf swing drill that your backside moves back since this helps to make a balanced golf posture position. You want your weight to be on the balls of your feet when you’re setup and it won’t be unless you follow the steps I’ve suggested.

And finally…..

5th.

Once you’ve bent over (by moving your backside back and keeping your back straight) the next step is to move your left hip (right hip for lefties) slightly towards your target. As soon as you do this it will automatically place your head behind the ball, which is exactly what you want it to do.

When you’re in this golf position you may position a club on the floor in a posture to hit a ball, and you probably will have to either bend over more or stand up straighter depending on what club you are using. For example, when you’re using a wedge you’ll have to bend over more than you would for a driver because a wedge is quite a bit shorter than a driver is.

Then as soon as you have done this exercise and you are set up then get a person to lightly push on both shoulders from behind and in front. Because doing this will help you to set your weight to the insides of both feet which is where the weight should be. Then get your partner to push lightly on your back and if you fall over it’s because your weight is too far forward, so set your weight more back on the balls of your feet.

Once you are in balance you will find that once a person gives yo a little push you will be steady as a rock, and this should be your aim. So do the posture exercise and test yourself until you pass. When you do, your balance will be a lot better during your golf swing.
